Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Postby MustyRusty on Thu Jan 29, 2009 4:49 pm

Well, it's time to replace my old rubber line and do a full fluid change and I would really like to switch to a stainless braided line.

Galfer only shows thier line for the 91-99 in the catalog, but I contacted them and they confirmed it will work on my 2000.

Problem is the cheapest I can find it is $79.99 from Old Bike Barn. As I am on a very strict buget, this is a bit out of my price range.

I have seen the Russell SS Line for the 91-98 (???) going for $27.99 on the Dennis Kirk website. Has anyone used this line on a later model NH??

I saw in a post on ADV Rider.com that a member called eteller had a Russell line on his '03 but I cannot register for the board as registration has been disabled by the administrator, and so I have no way to contact him about it.

Any Suggestions?

Try here: http://www.cyclebrakes.com/

I paid $60 shipped for a Galfer brake line set for my 1991.

you have to write them for a quote. You can pick color, length, etc.

I got black, 4 inches over stock to accommodate my handlebar setbacks.

That was in 2006, so the price may of changed. But they were the cheapest at the time. The price included shipping, assembly, new banjo bolts and washers.

Here is there response to me:
I have the line kit listed for that application. It is part # FK003D64-1. To
get it plus 4 inches, we charge a $5 fee per kit. The total cost of the line
would be $60. It includes all the bolts and washers and a color choice.

Thanks Mydlyfkryzis, but I joined the CB750 Yahoo group and found out the $27.00 Russell line will indeed fit my bike as many 01+ Nighthawk owners are using them.
