Welcome, Spitz.

If you can't find a new tachometer to buy, you might repair the broken one you have. The Tachometers on the Nighthawk often become broken. I wrote a story on how to fix the tachometer in the "Maintenance" section of the main site (not here in the forums).

http://www.nighthawk750.com/maint/tach-repair.html

It is not too hard to fix the tach if you are mechanically inclined.

A NEW Nighthawk tach costs $500 here in the US. I don't know how that translates to Euros or Marks, but it is probably not cheap for you either. :) Nighthawk tachs are also hard to find on eBay, since they die so frequently.

Another possibility is to buy a "generic" tachometer that attaches to one of the spark plug wires. An example would be the TinyTach by Design Technology

http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/index.php

It won't be attractive and round like the original, but it will tell you how many RPMs your engine is turning. Here in the US, a generic tach can be bought for less than $100 US.

Ride Safe,
Dave
