My brother's finally moving up..

Postby Troyohchatter on Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:16 am

In 2006 I worked at a Honda dealership. I was split between buying a new 599 (Hornet 600) or a used NH750. I ended up with the new Hornet.

Fast forward to 2009. My brother had decided to move up from his 1982 450 Hondamatic and we started looking and wouldn't you know I found a mint condition 1997 Nighthawk 750, less than 7K miles, with a windshield and Givi box mounted on a Hondaline rack....and it's the most beautiful shade of yellow you ever saw. We are going to look at it today but I am guessing she's perfect.

In the past I have ridden the 599 and 750 back to back. The 600 feels more nimble. the 750 and 599 have the same power below 7000RPM but the 600 pulls for another 5000RPM and 30 HP beyond the 750's redline. However, the 750 is more comfortable and doesn't require the coolant and valve maintenance.

All things considered, I am going to be insanely jealous of my brother. Also, since he has kids and a wife with other priorities, I am going to be quite happy for him.
