Center stand questions...

Postby GA_RR on Mon Aug 04, 2008 6:58 am

My brother has a '91 Nighthawk. I was looking to buy him a center stand for his upcoming b-day. Was wondering the best place to purchase them. All I seem to find online are the centerstands for the 250s....are they the same? I also have a '78 CX500 in my garage that I'm rebuilding that has a center stand on it. I don't guess anyone knows if the center stand for this bike would match up to the 750 Nighthawk?

Thanks.

Edit: Maybe not in stock....I would call them first...

Parts

Postby Slow2 on Tue Aug 12, 2008 12:36 pm

I've been buying all my factory parts from Honda Direct Line Parts for my 1991 750 Nighthawk. According to them, every part is still available from the factory for my 1991. I just ordered the complete center stand. They have the complete microfiche from Honda on every bike. You can get and compare part numbers to find parts that will interchange. Their prices are great and they have fast delivery.

how much did the center stand cost you besides the 9.00 shipping?

I need one as well.

they are somewhat of a rip off. I think over 100 for it then over 80 for the hardware which is a few screws and bolts...

I just went with a race stand and i could weld in the spools for the rear swingarm and you never take the weight with you but its perfect for oil/tire changes.

Bike Bandit has got the whole kit for $132.90 plus shipping, but Zoomer's idea is better.
You never need a center stand other than for servicing.
You got pics of your set-up Zoomer??

Well i have not done it so far. The spools i will atually be using a riv-nut kit in the back of my swingarm like sport bikes. But for the time being, i went on ebay and found a t-rex stand that has pads or spool hooks so right now the pads are on until i buy the spools and riv nut tool.

Wow, I wish I had known about those before I rushed out and bought the center stand kit back when I got my bike!

I really hate the fact that I am just draging around a lot of dead weight.
