Brake Work???

Postby cmyers on Wed Aug 06, 2008 4:50 pm

Has anyone ever considered or tried installing a second brake disc on the front of their 750? Can this even be done, maybe by replacing the front forks? Ride Safe

You would have to replace the forks and the master cylinder.

I haven't done it, but the Euro CB750 has them. I guess you could try to find them oversees.

What I did was put a Glafer Stainless Steel/Teflon lined brake line on. It cost $63, and that was with an extra 4 inches. I put risers on my handlebars and needed a longer brake line anyway.

I got them from here:

I told them what bike I had, and the length and color I wanted in an e-mail. The quoted me back. They were fast annd the brake lines looks nice and works great. The brakes are firmer and work much better. I am using stock pads.

In addition, I added a speed bleeder to them. It's a bleeding valve that replaces the existing one. Makes it very simple for one man bleeding.

Those I got from here: http://www.dirtwerkz.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=201

Fast service, I was very happy. A steel "Speed Bleeder" is about $8.

Put the speed bleeder on and the new hose, and you'll be able to bleed your brakes well and will have what feels like (well nearly), a dual disk system.
